Returning back to the Grand Rapids area (Cutlerville), she expanded her role to include teaching elementary physical education and coaching junior high girls’ sports. She also gave of her time in preparing for the annual Pine Rest sale day in the grove. She gave of her time and energy to Hillside Community Church, especially in the teaching of their children. Her greatest gift was in entertaining family and friends as she frequently offered her house as the meeting place. For many years she hosted family dinners every Sunday and excelled at making each of the grandchildren’s birthdays special for them.

A private family funeral service will be held 1:30 pm on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids with Pastor Daniel Bud officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Community Church Building Fund.
