Viola Padding

Viola Padding, age 98, of Jenison, MI, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Viola was raised on a farm in Zutphen Township and married her husband, Harold, in 1948. They served as missionaries in Nigeria for the Christian Reformed Church for 14 years. Upon retirement, Viola and Harold, did volunteer ministry service both in the United States and overseas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Padding; sisters, Sena Sprik, Connie Deweerd, Gerrietta VerHage, Ethel Wyngarden, Marian VerHage, and Ella Schermer. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Paul (Khristi Wilkins) Padding; granddaughter, Rachel Padding; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Jerry Postema officiating. Burial will take place at East Drenthe Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Global Missions or World Renew.

My sincere sympathy in the loss of your mom and grandma. I was privileged to be your mom's deacon at Brookside CRC and enjoyed visits with her. She lovingly talked about her family and had pictures up in her rooml. She had such a sweet demeanor and. we often talked about both her and your dad.... who I also had the privilege of knowing at Brookside. I will be keeping you in my prayers in these coming days. Dear Paul & family, my condolences to you in the death of your dear mother. Your parents (father) was administrator of TCH, I worked with him in the office until they moved to Jos. They were truly appreciated & I was able to have Iranya, their steward, work for me for the remaining years that I was in Takum. Wonderful memories!
