Tracey Butler

Tracey Butler, aged 51 of Hastings, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Scanlon in 2013 and her sister-in-law, Dawn Nettles. Tracey is survived by her husband, Mike; father, Gerald Scanlon; sisters, Stacey (Darrell) Burchfield, Vicki (Scott) Koester, Dawn (Dave) Summers; sister-in-law, Bridget (Jeff) Cook; mother-in-law, Karen Butler; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Burchfield, Daymean and Devon Summers, Nathan Koester, Maeceo Nettles; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff of Faith Hospice for their loving care of Tracey. Funeral services for Tracey will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood with Chaplain Kathy Colliver officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Relay for Life of Barry County - Sinclair Sisters Team.

I am so sorry for your loss. Tracey was one of the kindest women I ever met. She made a very lost, scared, stranger at 16 years old feel the goodness around us on one of the darkest days, 9/11. I will always remember your generosity and love. RIP Tracey.
