Thomas John Kazemier, age 45, of Middleville, MI passed away unexpectedly and was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Tom was born on February 28, 1970 in Grand Rapids, MI. Tom’s family and faith were of the utmost importance to him. He was an adoring and unwavering husband, devoted father, loving son, a beloved brother, a fun loving uncle, and a loyal friend.   Tom was a man of integrity and exceptional character. He spent much of his time mentoring those around him, coaching his kid's sports teams and being outdoors. The evidence of his impact on our earthly world can be seen throughout the community, family, and friends.   The amazing legacy Tom has left for his children will guide them forever. Aiden shares Tom’s passion for problem solving, cooking, projects and his drive to be involved in activities. Kennedy shares his love for music, lyrics, nature, love of bird watching as well as his quiet reflectiveness on life. Jeanie will always remember the adoration that Tom had for her. Through Tom’s unconditional love he helped her see and become the woman she is today.   He was an active member of Journey church and recently spearheaded the efforts to build their new facility. This opportunity in serving God blessed him immensely with deeper relationships within his church family.   Tom had a love and appreciation for life which included fishing, camping, hiking, and four wheeling. His appetite for food and life far exceeded most. His candor was welcomed by many who knew Tom always had their best interest at heart.   Tom taught his children to appreciate not only the small things in life, but soundly instilled in them the ability to see the big picture as well. He was always working on a project and taught his children the value of seeing it through to completion. The process of working toward a goal is what drove Tom on every project he committed to.   Following in his father’s footsteps, Tom developed a love for construction and building. Graduating from Ferris State University in 1992 with degrees in construction management and facilities management. Tom’s professional career included owning Concept Construction and a combined total of 15 years at Amway. He was a highly respected and valued part of the Amway team as the Supervisor of Facilities Planning and Real Estate for his skill set, work ethic, and leadership.   Tom leaves behind his wife, Jeanie Kazemier who was truly his life's partner and love of his life. Their bond is a genuine testament of how God calls us to love one another and the pure meaning of marriage. They often reminded each other, “It's me and you, just us two...forever”. They would have been celebrating 20 years of marriage this May, and together a total of 26 years. Although his time here with her was cut short his impact will live on forever.   He also leaves behind his children, Kennedy and Aiden. He is survived by his parents, Pete and Ann Kazemier; his father-in law and mother-in-law, Mel and Pat Boonstra; his brothers, Mike (Leah) Kazemier, Greg Kazemier, Bruce (Tina) Kazemier; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mel Boonstra; Angela (Bill) Wilburn; Karen Boonstra, his sister-in-law; Lisa Schwartz, his sister-in-law; nieces and nephews, Shawna, Drake, Devin Kazemier, Nicole Kazemier, Katie (Justin) Kunze, Tucker (Anna) Boonstra, Sydnee Boonstra (Jordan), Rylee Wilburn.   The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, February 27 at Journey Church, 9185 Cherry Valley Ave., Caledonia from 4-6 pm.   A Memorial Service for Tom will be held on Sunday, February 28 at 2 pm at Cornerstone Church, 1675 - 84th St. SE, Caledonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Thomas John Kazemier Memorial Fund, ℅ Hastings City Bank for his children's college education.

Jeanie - My heart breaks for you and your family. Tom was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. Jeanie, Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I've known Tom for probably close to 20 years and he's one of the people I've most admired in my life. He has always been a person of the highest integrity and always wanted to please his coworkers and clients. Tom is a true example of what a man should be. Know that this morning while navigating the snow covered roads to work, Tom is around us and will always be around us if we keep our eyes on all our hidden treasures amongst us. Traveling east out of Caledonia on 100 Street, listening to Bob Seger's song Against the Wind, it was beautiful drive under the snow canopy, absolutely stunning. My senses were heightened and it took me back to another time. Tom loved and was amazed by the natural beauty of nature, so keep a keen eye for these hidden gems, because it's a reminder that Tom is alive and well and awaiting our arrival. These gems are the heart and soul of our loved one. Peace be with your Family and friends. The Avery's

Jeanie and Kazemier family I am deeply saddened by the news of Tom passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Tom was a great partner whom I worked with in China. I looked up to him as my mentor at times and turned to him for advice and he would shared his experience and knowledge generously. He was very professional in work, an awesome friend, and a very humble and cheerful person. Overhere in Asia, especially China and Singapore, he is still alive in our hearts and minds. Please accept my most sincere condolences. He will be truly missed and will not be forgotten.

Jeanie and Family, I pray the love of the Lord will surround you with peace and give you strength during your time of sorrow. It has been far too long since I have seen Tom, but I have such fond memories of him from school. We were in the same math class every year from 6th-12th grade; if it wasn't for Tom, I would have failed Geometry! He was always smiling and was quick to laugh. What a treasure of a soul! I am truly sorry for your loss. God Bless~ Julie
