Sherri Bono

Sherri (Van Dyken) Bono, age 57, of Allendale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, after battling cancer for three and a half years. Sherri was a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter. She worked at Miller Johnson for 32 years as a legal secretary. Sherri was preceded in death by her grandson, Tristan Frye. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lindsay (Rick) Bidwell, Nicole (Justin) Frye; grandchildren, Makenzie, Aiden, Brantley, Cayson, and Ryder; parents, Gerard and Joanne Van Dyken; siblings, Terry (Dawn) Van Dyken, and Denise (Sean) Coffey; many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, with Pastor Jim Maness officiating. The burial will be held at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, August 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice www.spectrumhealth.org/foundation/giving. The family would like to express a special thanks to all of the friends and family members who have remembered them in prayer and donated to their GoFundMe page.

My thoughts are with your daughters and their family. We worked together until I retired in 2002. You were my friend and coworker from the time you started until I retired. We had fun and laughs at my place along with Debbie and Wendy. I will not be able to come tomorrow as I need my son to help me my health has gone down hill. Lindsay and Nicole and Family - I am so sorry to hear of Sherri's illness and passing. We started at Miller Johnson on the same day and worked closely together nearly 17 years. She was such a great person and a wonderful friend. We had so many fun Christmas gatherings each year with Sherri, Julie Dieterle, Wendy, and Susan Wilford. I miss those times and I will miss Sherri. I'm glad to know, though, that she's now free of her suffering, but my heart breaks for you.

To Sherri's daughters - your Mom was one of the kindest souls we have had at Miller Johnson. What a nice person, and remained so while battling for her health over the past few years. So sad that the pandemic prevented us from a more fitting good bye on her last day at MJ.

Sending our deepest condolences to Lindsay, Nicole, and the entire family. Sherri had one of the kindest and strongest souls of any person I have ever met. She left a lasting impact on so many lives. Her kindness, courage and strength is an inspiration to all. Although the time was cut way to short, we were truly blessed to have had her in our world, were lucky to be a part of her world, and honored to call her a friend. I'll think of you my dear sweet friend on every taco Tuesday, each visit to the Adobe, and will never see a burrito without seeing your smile too. We miss you already.
