Parker Duncan

December 27, 2003 ~
November 21, 2025

Parker Michael Duncan, age 21, of Shelbyville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 21, 2025, and is now home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Parker was a kind and loving son, grandson, brother, and nephew who had a huge heart and a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger—no matter someone’s background, he connected with people easily and genuinely. He was a 2021 graduate of Mattawan High School where he enjoyed playing football. Following graduation, he went on to further his passion for automotive work at the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina, where he earned a degree in auto mechanic repair. Parker worked for his uncle Jason as a  Master Mechanic and received his certification at an impressively young age. Parker loved Notre Dame football and had a lifelong enthusiasm for auto racing, cherishing countless memories made with his family at the annual trip to Eldora Speedway. Parker also had a love of his country, always supporting anything American and the red, white, and blue. Away from work, he found peace and time with Jesus on the river, spending time fly fishing and enjoying the quiet moments surrounded by nature. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Brinks, and grandmother, Shirley Bluman. Parker will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Jessica Brinks and Don Bluman; siblings, Drake, Deaken, and Dempsy Bluman; grandmother, Sandy Brinks; uncle, Jason Brinks; aunt Patricia Bluman; loving extended family members and dear friends. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at MKD Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Kevin Pike officiating. A time of continued fellowship with Parker’s family and a light luncheon will immediately follow the service at the MKD Reception and Event Center. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or be nice

Jessica and family, Words cannot express how sorry I am, and the deep sorrow we all feel, for the loss you have experienced. I can share what we saw in Parker that you maybe didn’t know… What I can say, is that as long as I’ve known Parker, (5yrs?) he was a loud laughing goofy friend that would hang around with Joey. I watched Joey and Parker grow up together these last few years, navigating living very far apart, their classes, vacations, car shows, shenanigans, and fishing. Parker became one of my bonus boys, always welcome in my home, always polite, sleeping on our couch in the rec room many times. I’ll never forget on Joey’s last home soccer game night, Parker sat out in his pickup bed watching the game and made a sign that said “#19 is my boo!” Joey thought that was so funny… they laughed a long time about that… his loud laugh just resonated with me- he shared joy with everyone so easily- his gift. Extra things he did for people and kids- like teach at the ISD his senior year, holding down a job on top of that. Personally, He did so many little things for me- that I felt like he was part of the family, and I always told him that. He took time to come see me when he was in town- I cherish those memories so much, I called him my bonus boy. Joey has many friends, but Parker was special. When they fished, they were in their friendship zone. I hope you know, Joey loves you like family, too. I’ll pray for your peace, and for God to tuck you under his wing. Beth and Randy

Jess and family, I am sending so much love and so many prayers. Words cannot even begin to express how sorry I am. Although I didn’t get to spend a ton of time with Parker over the years, I’m grateful for the times I did. He was such lovely, sweet kid and grew into an even lovelier young man — genuine, warm, kind, and thoughtful. He was always one of my favorite people in the room. The last time I saw him, he was so funny, joking around and full of so much energy. I remember how easy it was to feel comfortable and welcomed around him, he just had a way of making people feel seen and included. You could tell he had a truly good heart and gentle soul. Looking back now, it’s one of my favorite memories of him and I will hold it so close. He was a beautiful person; the kind that made the world better by just being in it. My deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved you. I’m grateful to have met you and to have known even a small piece of who you were, Parker. Rest easy — you were so loved, and you’ll be deeply missed.

I met Parker when he was in second grade with my son, Jacob. I volunteered every week in their class and spent one on one time with each student. Parker had a constant smile on his face that was so sweet. He and Jake played football together and it was such a privilege to watch Parker in the field! We also got to shoot his senior photos and he had that same incredibly sweet smile and made the shoot so enjoyable. My heart hurts so much for his sweet momma and all of his family and friends. May God bless you all!

We didn’t know Parker for long, but he was one of those rare people who made you feel instantly at ease. There was a comfort about him—quiet, warm, and genuine—that made it so easy to just be yourself around him. He was kind in a way that didn’t ask for attention; it simply radiated from him. Parker was always smiling, always ready to share a laugh, and always looking for the good time hidden in even the smallest moments. He had a way of lifting the mood without even trying, turning ordinary days into memories worth keeping. He was the type of person who went out of his way to make sure everyone around him was taken care of. Parker looked out for the people he loved—protective, thoughtful, and always willing to show up when someone needed him, even if he never asked for anything in return. One of the brightest parts of his life was his dog, Brooks. He adored him deeply, and that love was obvious in every story he told and every moment they shared. Brooks was truly his companion, and that bond reflected the gentle, loyal person Parker was. His time with us was heartbreakingly short, but the impact he made was real. As we remember him, we’re also reminded how important it is—especially for men—to speak up, reach out, and ask for help when things feel heavy. No one has to carry everything alone. Support is always there, and help is available 24/7 at 988. Rest easy, Parker. You will be deeply missed.

I’m so sorry for your loss. While I didn’t have Parker in class, I did have Deaken and met Dempsey a few years ago. I will hold the Blumans and Parker’s other family and friends in my heart. Lori Fulton

I used to ride the school bus with Parker since he lived down the road from me. I remember he used to make me laugh on the bus and since we were one of the last stops we would race up and down the bus to see who could shut all the windows the fastest. I can’t believe he’s passed. He will truly be missed

I went to school with Parker at Mattawan. I'll always remember him having a smile on his face every time he walked in the classroom. He had a wonderful light that carried with him. Parker loved his friends and his family, and he loved God through all of it. My prayers and condolences are with his family and friends. ~ Audrey Mattson

Parker was a great kid who grew into an impressive young man. We were amazed by his maturity, drive to succeed and pursuit of what he loved. He had such a great personality and made us smile whenever he stopped by the house with his buddy…my son Joey. We are all so thankful to have had Parker touch our lives and we will always remember his kindness and smile. Our deepest condolences to Jess and family. May you find strength and healing in the times ahead.

I went to middle school with Parker, and he was always so kind and full of energy. As kids, we talked about our dreams for the future, and he was insistent that one day he’d move down South and live off-grid in a bus. Little me thought, “Yeah, okay… maybe,” but he truly went on to pursue that dream. We stayed connected on Facebook, and I watched him live out the life he always talked about. He was such a sweet soul, and I hope knowing how many people remember him in such beautiful ways brings some comfort to your family. Sending prayers, comfort, and healing your way.
