Larry Sims

SIMS - Larry C. Sims aged 77 of Comstock Park passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caryle and Bernadean Sims; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Donna Smith brother-in-law, Gerald Cole; sisters-in-law, Georgia Bennett and Jeri Smith. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Bonnie; children, Kari (Craig Frederick) Sims, Melissa Goehring, Christopher "Crit" (Karen) Goehring; grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Mark and Mike Edsenga, Sara and Hannah Williams, Zoey, Xandar and Grace Goehring, Christian Hartman; great grandchildren, Brianna, Emma, Keagon, Adley and Easton; son-in-law, Tony Williams; his beloved dog Sophie; also surviving are his sisters-in-law Cathi Cole, Jodi (Pat) McNamara; brothers-in-law, Dennis "Butch" Smith, Brian (Dee) Smith, Robert Bennett; close family friends, Robert (Ronda) Frazer, Kenneth (Martha) Powelson; many nieces and nephews. Larry was a handyman and was always fixing something for his family and friends. He loved his lake house as he often said his "Happy Place". Larry retired from The Rapid after 27 years of service. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday March 28, 2018 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE. His family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
