John Scheidel, age 90, of Rockford, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior and to be reunited with his wife, Rosie on Monday, September 22, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Christine (Tim) Wilcox, Steve (Deborah) Scheidel, and Mike Scheidel; grandchildren, Luke (Kelly) Wilcox, Casey (Brandi) Wilcox, Shannon Wilcox, Allison Scheidel, Maggie (Joel) Hutton; seven great grandchildren; in-laws, Florence Scheidel, Juanita Scheidel, and Lewis Whitlatch; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; daughter, Jeanne and brothers Thomas and Richard Scheidel. He started his own electrical company, Scheidel Electric, in 1972. John and Rose loved snowmobiling with friends and traveling with family. He had a rough exterior but always had the heart to help anyone in need. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11 am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6390 Belmont Ave. NE, Belmont, with Father Chuck Schwartz officiating. Burial at Assumption’s St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, September 28, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:30pm at MKD Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI, as well as 10-11am prior to Mass at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church or Consolata Missionary Sisters.
