Remembering Janis Lee Munson

Munson, Janis Lee Janis Lee (Gessner) Munson, age 64, of Hudsonville and formerly of Ann Arbor, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Jan was a former V.P. of JPMorgan Chase Bank and loved to read, travel, and make crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Mehrtens and Robert Gessner. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Karen (the late Edward) Munson; brother, Robert (Linda) Gessner Jr.; nieces, Sarah (J. Scott) MacDonald II and Caitlin (Aaron) Kraus; very special aunt, Lynn (William) Moran; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21 at 4:00 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Chris R. Hansen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 Rochester Road North, Rochester Hills, MI 48307-3115.

My heart goes out to the family. I worked with Jan for many years at NBD and admired her skills as a manager and goodness as a person with a warm heart, and sense or humor. I was lucky to know her. Dianne Brainard

Karen and Bobby, I am saddened to learn of Jan's passing and wish to send condolences to you and your family. We saw the obituary in the G.R. Press. Gary and I did not know that Jan lived so near to us. Gary and his wife live in Zeeland. My husband, Chuck, and I moved to Grand Rapids after retiring a few years ago. You all have been in my thoughts during the last few days, along with many memories . Jane and her husband, Fred, also live in Grand Rapids. Losing someone we love is never easy. And we know that it is not the purpose of God for us. Jehovah God wants us to live happily in Paradise earth forever. So like what He gave for Adam and Eve. Unexpectedly, they committed sin and that sin resulted to death. We, offspring of our forefather inherited the result-death. Rom 5:12 Still, our lovingly father gave us hope to restore His purpose.
