Helen Elizabeth McCall

Helen Elizabeth (Hall) McCall at the age of 100 1/2 years young met her savior peacefully face-to-face on June 19, 2020. During WWII and after waiting 3 1/2 years, she married her darling Samuel R. McCall who was serving overseas and passed in 2001. They had a wonderful marriage for 56 years. She was born on November 23, 1919, the year women won the right to vote.

She is survived by her 4 children: Jane ( Larry) Haney, Mary (John) Beemer, Samuel L. (Cindy) McCall and Sally McCall Cain. She has 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

The Lord gave Helen a promise while raising her children that all her children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be their peace (Isaiah 54:13). She made this her daily prayer.

Helen was a precious woman of God, who loved serving others, ministering until she passed. It wasn’t unusual to find Helen praying for a neighbor at the mailbox. Her daily walk showed others the love of Jesus.

Helen was an intelligent woman doing crossword puzzles in ink, staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook, and reading a book a day. Even at 100 1/2 years, she was able to recall many historical events and memories passing them on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen was a very accomplished woman who made award-winning apple pies, upholstered furniture and at the age of 85 modeled for a local department store.

When asked, “What is your secret for looking so young?” She replied, “It’s the joy of the Lord!” Today she sings with a host of angels.

It was Helen’s desire to have a private celebration of her life with her family.
