Debra Lynn Smith, age 69, of Hudsonville, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Donna Mulder; her parents-in-law, Russell and Maxine Smith; brothers-in-law, Don Smith and Dennis Smith; and sister-in-law, Darlene Smith.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Mark Smith; sister, Sandi Schafer; brother, Phil (Chris) Mulder; brothers-in-law, Russ (Joyce) Smith, Timothy (Pam) Smith; sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Debby loved Notre Dame Football and NASCAR. She also enjoyed traveling, spending her summers at Pere Marquette Oaks Campground and winters where it was warm.
While all of Debby’s family was important to her, she had an incredibly special relationship with her nephew, Zach and his daughters, Kylee and Kelsey; niece, Crystal; and very special family friend, Missy Zylstra.
Some people are just such a big part of your life, your family, and your everyday moments that it’s hard to imagine a world without them. Debby was one of those people. She showed up for everything. She was there for Kylee and Kelsey’s games, choir concerts, the ceremonies, and all the little and big moments in between. She made sure they knew they were loved, supported, and important. Aunt Debby was one of a kind. She was honest, never sugarcoated things, and always had advice to give, whether you asked for it or not. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or tell someone when they were wrong. And if you were sitting in front of her at a game, you better believe she wasn’t going to hesitate to tell you to Move because she needed to see!
