Diane Kay Datema, age 70, of Wyoming passed away unexpectedly to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

She found joy in playing video poker at the casino, and was known for her gentle and kind spirit. She cherished time spent shopping with her granddaughter, Jordan, creating memories that will be forever treasured. A talented cook and baker, she expressed her love through the meals and treats she prepared for family and friends. Above all, she was selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Snyder. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Dannie “Dan” Datema; children, Derick Datema and Daniel (Bridget) Datema; mother, Erma Snyder; brother, Dennis (Donna) Snyder; granddaughter, Jordan Datema; lifelong friend, Dale (Zip) Stevens; additional nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, April 18 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming.

We were shocked when we heard the news of Diane's passing. Diane was a vibrant and devoted grandma to our common granddaughter, Jordan. Her passing has left all of us who knew her in disbelief. Her loving spirit will be missed, but I'm confident her many positive qualities will live on in Jordan and all of those that loved her dearly. May the mantra that we all are, as she was,, loved and worthy of love live on in all of us who were blessed by her presence.

Dan, Derick, Daniel, Jr,and grandchildren. My deepest and heartfelt condolences on the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother, and to her extended families. I've known Diane for many years and we worked at the same office of W.A, Lettinga & Assoc. and that is where we met. Diane had a great sense of humor and she was proudest of their sons and grandchildren. She loved to bake and she had a wealth of recipes she was always willing to share with her friends, She will be missed by many but most missed by Dan, her husband of 40 years. RIP dear friend. Until we meet again.
