Claudene Beth (Raterink) Kooistra, age 81, of Wyoming, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; brothers, Rodney and Phyllis Raterink and Benjamin and Martha Raterink. She will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren, Kimberly and Robert Molter (Alexander and Kelly, Elaina and AJ), Lawrence Kooistra (Cassandra, Kayleigh, Lauren, Matthew), Michelle Kooistra, Randall and Maria Kooistra; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Leland and Maryellen Raterink, Judith and Tracy Allen; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Byron Center Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Mark VanDrunen officiating. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 21, from 2-5 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grandville Calvin Christian Schools Foundation or donate blood to your local blood bank.

Only just saw this in Sunday's paper. So sorry to hear of this sad news. Claudene was a kind, friendly, devoutly Christian soul whose long time driving buses and supporting Calvin Christian Schools was so appreciated. My daughter Margareta and I would bump into her in the strangest places but we always had a good time catching up with her. Our love and prayers go out to her whole family! May God wrap his loving arms around you all.

Lee and Judy, & Claudene's family. My sincere condolences. Claudene (Corky) was our neighbor, babysitter and friend. Her boyfriend and later her husband, Joe, had to tell us many, many times that her name was Claudene not Corky. But all those years growing up in Dutton, when she babysat for me and my siblings, Laurie, Paul and Mary, she was our Corky, a kind and helpful neighbor like all her siblings. I have great memories of so many good times with the Raterinks, from games of kick-the-can around our houses, water balloon fights, or taking Joe's car keys and hiding them when he came to pick up Claudene. We were blessed to have such good neighbors! May God comfort you all at this time, as only He can, with the peace that passes all understanding. I am sorry I am out of state and unable to attend the visitation and/or funeral, but please know I would be there if I could. Love and prayers. Gordon DeBlaay
