Benjamin John Eisma, age 85, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, and is now in the arms of Jesus. “And He said, well done, thou good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21. Ben was preceded in death by his precious wife of 57 years, Esther. He will be deeply missed by his children, Kim (Bob) Workman, Dan (Deb) Eisma, Ruth (Daryl) Dykhouse, Denise (Paul) Hoekwater, and Doug (Linda) Eisma; as well as 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ben was committed to his country and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of Hope Christian Reformed Church. His sincere faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, gentle kind spirit, cheerful smile, generosity, and devoted love for his wife and family are truly how his family and friends will remember him. Ben's family expresses a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rose Garden and Emmanuel Hospice for the loving care they provided to him. The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Ben's life and legacy. They welcome memories and messages at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. In honor of Ben, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sunset Legacy Foundation or Emmanuel Hospice.

Your family has my sincerest sympathy on the passing of Ben, named after our father Benjamin Eerdmans. He is my half brother, whom I never met, but I'm sure we'll meet in heaven on my passing. There's much family history; if anyone wants to know more, please contact me.

Oh how all of you will miss your precious dad. What fun we had as kids with our family and yours having wonderful adventures together. I will remember most your dad's incredible laugh. All of you made him so happy and he loved life so much. He and your mom raised five kids to love Jesus and to love life. Now your mom & dad are together again, praising Jesus before His throne. I pray that your memories will be sweet and your mom & dad's loving legacy will live on in your precious families!! Love & prayers, Chris & Pat deVries

My prayers are with you. God gave you a wonderful gift - Christian parents. I first met Ben at Grandville Hi football games - my girlfriend had a "crush" on him. In later years we became "relatives" thru the Sjoerdsma Cousins parties. (My husband was a cousin) May God hold you "tight".
