After 10 days of wonderful care at Faith Hospice, Natalie Yost has gone to heaven to join Jesus and her husband, Gaylord.
Natalie loved everyone and was well loved in return.
She was a graduate of the 1944 class of Catholic Central High School. She married Gaylord F Yost on May 1, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband Gaylord Yost, parents Raymond and Cecile Wessely, brother Harold Wessely, son-in-law Paul Strzyzewski, and many brothers and sisters in-law and nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Carol) Yost, Alice (Jim) Anderson, and Louise Yost, and her grandchildren Jeff (Mary Beth) Yost, Mike (Stephanie) Yost, Kim (Matt) Johnson, Jenny (Sean) Roach, Jamie (Jordan) McClure, and Michelle (Patrick) Brinkley. She also leaves 8 beloved great grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Ben, Nathan, Sam, Avonlea, Collin, and Ava sister, Marian Armstrong, brother, Raymond (Evelyn) Wessely, Sister In-Law Lerine Lindberg, Sister In-Law, Nancy Wessely, and many nieces and nephews.
Natalie had a full life. She was deeply devoted to her faith and St John Vianney Church. Her work career included many years of being in charge of the kitchen at West Godwin Elementary. The career she cherished the most was being the best wife, mother and homemaker.
She spent many years working on the funeral lunches at St John Vianney Church as head of the Sunshine Guild, and also doing volunteer work as a member of the St John Vianney Altar Society. The Altar Society awarded her “The Mother of the Year” statue in May, 1989.
She was also in the Wyoming Lioness, and after her husband Gaylord died in 1994, she took over his duties of selling the Lion Mints for the Blind. She was the first woman to officially enter the Wyoming Lions and she enjoyed many years in service with them.
Thank's to all of you who made sure she would have a ride to any Lion meetings, St. Jude Lunches, and church services and events, as well as those who brought communion to her at home. We deeply thank the staff at Great Lakes Home Care and Faith Hospice, for the wonderful care they gave our mother.
Natalie loved sitting on the benches by the Coastguard Station, watching the sunset in Ludington. Natalie gave love to everyone she knew and that is her greatest legacy. She taught us the value of life-long friends. She will be deeply missed but always remembered.
Services for Natalie will be at 11:00 am, on Thursday, May 19th at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, with Fr. Michael Alber officiating. There will be visitation one hour before the service at church, as well as visitation from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm with the rosary at 7:00pm, Wednesday, May 18th at Matthysse, Kuiper, DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wyoming Lions Club or St. John Vianney Church would be appreciated.
