Wilma “Jean” Idema

Wilma “Jean” Idema, age 83, of Grandville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 and is how home with her Lord and Savior. Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. She had a quiet personality and strong faith that carried her through life’s joys and also its challenges. She was was preceded in death by her son, Jim Idema; sister, Virginia Post; brother, Larry Drew; brothers-in-law, Gene Platt, Gordon Idema, David Van Kampen; sister-in-law, Marjorie Idema. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Earl Idema; son, Rick Idema; daughter, Shirley Idema; daughter-in-law, Debbie Idema; grandchildren, Brandon Idema, Isabella Idema, Khristoffer Idema, Dominic Idema, Miranda Donselar, Dale Donselar; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Karen Platt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Delores Drew; Carol Van Kampen, Marv Post; Art and Bonnie Idema, Ed Idema; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 am at Hanley Christian Reformed Church,O-372 Jackson, Grandville, with Rev. Ron Noorman and Rev. Doug Fauble officiating.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Association for the Blind.
