Wilma J. Dingess

Wilma J. Dingess, age 85, of Grand Rapids, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; daughters, Susan Dingess, Dawn Overla; son, Herman Dingess; siblings, Henrietta and Bob Zerfas, Betty and Jack Brondyk, Gertrude Krol, Art and Savannah Potter, Herman Potter. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cecil Dingess, Linda Cooper, Terry Dingess; son-in-law, Ron Overla; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Christine (Marvin) VanderBee; sister-in-law, Florence Potter; brother-in-law, Bob Krol; many nieces and nephews. Wilma will be remembered as a smart, generous, and independent woman who loved her family.  Her children and grandchildren enjoyed Wilma’s cooking, especially her spaghetti and meatballs and chocolate chip cookies.  She was dedicated to making sure her deceased family members were remembered and their graves always had flowers on them. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Directors (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Rick Tigchon of Standale Reformed Church, officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Standale Reformed Church.
