Williamette “Winkie” O’Connell

Williamette “Winkie” Shepard O’Connell, age 64, passed away August 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. Winkie was born December 7, 1959, in Grand Rapids, MI to Robert and Opal Shepard. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching hockey and racing, and crafting. She is survived by her husband, Phillip J. O’Connell; children, Phillip R. O’Connell of Stevensville, MI, and Erin McNally (Jeremiah) of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren, Maesie, Fallynn, and Shepard McNally, Paysen O’Connell, and Parker McKinney; brother, Gerry Shepard; sister-in-law, Betty Shepard; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Opal Shepard; her sisters, Roberta Shepard, Linda (Richard) Sessink, Darlene (John) Heeringa; brother, Robert Shepard; and nephews, Brian and Bobby Shepard, Dan Thompson. A special thank you to her niece, Suzie Haugen and her Corewell Health Hospice team. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2-4 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
