STEGEHUIS - William Stegehuis Jr., age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edwina "Eddie" Stegehuis; brothers, Robert Stegehuis, Charles Stegehuis, Roger Stegehuis; sister, Shirley Stegehuis; granddaughter, Meghan Braun. William is survived by his children, William A. (Judith) Stegehuis, Rebecca Braun, Gerald (Lisa) Stegehuis, Dena (David) Talmage, Don (Rochelle) Stegehuis; grandchildren, Andrew Stegehuis, Jennifer Stegehuis, Nathan Stegehuis, Amanda Braun, Gerry Stegehuis Jr., Benjamin (Randi) Talmage, Allison Aernouts, Jameson (Jamie) Talmage, Erin (Craig) Parker, Emily Stegehuis, Mark (Gina) Stegehuis, Shayla Stegehuis, Selina Stegehuis, Alex Stegehuis; great grandchildren, Alexis, Daniel, Atticus, Paxton, Declan, Elliott, Adelaide, Jaxson, Jayden, Lillian, Annabelle, Charlotte, Jonathan, Marc, Evelyn; sisters, Betty (Roger) Katsma, Bonnie Clark; sisters-in-law, Patricia Stegehuis, Darlene Stegehuis, Gladys Huebner. William was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved nature and history. He will be remembered for doing puzzles, his collection of books, and his love of sports. A graveside service will take place 1:00 PM Friday, September 13 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe NE, Grand Rapids.
