William Ora Miller

William “Bill” Ora Miller, age 92, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Bill is an honorable veteran of the United States Army. He retired from GM in 1989 and was a member of the Lisbon Crescent Masonic Lodge #322. Bill was an avid book collector and reader and held interest in Sci-Fi and westerns. He also enjoyed trips to the casinos with his sons, playing Craps, and traveling to Vegas with his wife, Biruta. Golfing and bowling were some of his favorite pastimes and watching the Detroit Tigers or Lions games. He will be greatly missed for his funny wit, his hugs and ability to be friendly and social with anyone. He was preceded in death by his wife, Biruta and siblings, Leonard Miller, Georgia Matthews and Jerome Miller. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Alex (Kathleen) Miller, Eric (Bobbi) Miller; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, May 11 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
