William “Mart” Martin Holst

William Martin “Mart” Holst, age 84, of Hudsonville, passed away surrounded by his family to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Mart was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served in the US Navy. He loved to work and was the owner and operator of Taylor Rental Center. When not at work, Mart enjoyed spending time at the cottage and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Katheryn Holst; siblings, Helen and Lloyd DeFouw, Jay and Alice Holst, Nelly and Frank Miller, Ken and Eileen Holst, Norine and Joe Kuhtic, Ray and Evie Holst, Shirley and Alvin Rozema, Beverly and Clarence Brander; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Jennie Isenga; brothers-in-law, Ronald Isenga, Gordon Isenga; an infant daughter; and great-granddaughters, Haven Mullet and Bella Soto. Mart will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; children, Elaine and Fred Geskus, Barbara and John Spiker, Pamela and Bruce Vander Kolk, Tyce and Jennifer Holst; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brother, David and Dodie Holst; sisters-in-law, Joan and Jim Peacock, Nancy Isenga, Mira Isenga; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Daniel DeVries officiating. Burial Forest Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Harvest Stand Ministries.
