William Lane

William Mark Lane, age 69, of Hudsonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025. Bill was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle. He played an active role in the lives of his great-nieces and great-nephews and deeply treasured the memories they shared.

Bill and Mary met 48 years ago while he was working at Jurgens & Holtvluwer, beginning a lifelong journey side by side. He later spent more than 25 years with ABC Warehouse, where he built many meaningful connections.

Bill was an interesting, passionate, and wonderfully complex man. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and with his son, and as a longtime member of Sunnybrook Country Club he made countless memories on the course. He also loved cheering on his favorite teams—the Tigers, Lions, MSU, and Pistons. Above all, Bill led with his heart and devoted himself to the family and friends he loved so dearly.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ken and Marcia Lane; and his brother-in-law, Doug Diephouse. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Mary Lane; son, Branden Lane; sisters, Kendra and Jim Simon, Sue and Gene Robinson; sister-in-law, Linda Diephouse; brother-in-law, Edward Spaak Jr.; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 2766 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Dr. Marty Phillips officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 26, from 3-5 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Georgetown United Methodist Church.
