William James McClaine

McClaine, William James MCCLAINE – William James McClaine, aged 89 of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie. He is survived by his children, Dawn (Howie) Fischer, Debra Harvey, Kevin (Cathy) McClaine, Brian (Terri) McClaine, Kelly Haddan; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna (Vernon) Castle, Catherine Olson; sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Bill worked for Spartan Stores for many years. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Faith Hospice and Covenant Village for their loving care of Bill. Funeral services for William will be held Monday at 12 noon at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Chaplain Carol Flietstra officiating. Interment in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Monday from 11 am until the time of the service. The family suggests that memorial contributions be given to Faith Hospice.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a faithful member at South United Methodist Church and I truly have missed his beautiful smile. His devotion to his wife Bessie, even after her death was so special. He always walked up to the place where her name was honored on the wall and touched it before every service. He was a very special man and well loved by all of us who knew him. My sincere condolences to all of his family. Susan Alexander
