William Hoffer

William (Bill) Albert Hoffer, age 69, of Grand Rapids, passed away comfortably on Tuesday, January 7th 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital. Bill is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Pierre Wilson), and grandchildren Joshua, Madison and Maverick, as well as his sister Anne (Paul), brothers, Tom (Beth), Derek (Michelle) and Kevin (Heather).

Bill was a former Steelcase employee, and worked years after that on computers. He enjoyed yelling at the television when his beloved football team, the Detroit Lions, were losing, but would yell with joy and a smile when they won a game... or two! As a grandfather, he enjoyed many games, playing barbies and coloring with his grandchildren. He was no social butterfly, but many memories will be held within the ones he did meet thru the years. No longer will he be able to snarl at his daughter when she tells him, since after his stroke in September, "to stay positive, keeping trying and build your strength."

He was preceded in death by his parents. He can now join his father at the big table and discuss old Steelcase and politics. He will also be joining his mother in the kitchen and helping her make fatiyahs and cheeseball, followed by a lovely stroll with his beloved lost fur-babies, Nakita and Buford.

His wishes were to be cremated, and no funeral service will be held. The family asks that everyone celebrates Bill's life in their own special way.
