William F. Wing

William (Bill) F. Wing, 80, of Wyoming, Michigan peacefully passed away on June 29th, 2021. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7th from 1pm – 3pm at Stegenga Funeral Chapel in Wyoming, MI. 

Bill was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Harold E. and Eleanor M. (Roat) Wing on May 26, 1941. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1959. After high school he attended the Flint Institute of Barbering. He married Carolyn J. (Miller) Wing on November 30, 1963 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bill was a barber and small business owner for over 55 years. He was a member of the West Michigan Postcard Club, a local history buff, and antique enthusiast. Bill was also a sportsman he could often be found up north in Pentwater or at “the ranch” hunting and fishing, or on the golf course, where he was exceptionally proud of his ’95 hole in one! 

Bill is preceded in death by his brother Harold G. Wing and sisters Elaine R. (Wing) Ide, Carolyn L. (Wing) Winn; his son, Andrew J. Wing; and his great-grandson Cy E. Shoemaker. 

Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. (Miller) Wing; his daughter Sharon M. (Wing) Jordan; grandchildren Samantha M. (Paul) Shoemaker and R. Grant (Mary) Jordan; great-grandchildren Kinslie Jordan, Maggie Jordan, Cal Shoemaker, and Scarlett Jordan. 

Memorials may be given to The March of Dimes in honor of Bill’s beloved 1st Great Grandson Cy Shoemaker or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
