Wesley Strehlau

Wesley Karl Strehlau, age 95, of Hudsonville, went to collect his reward in heaven on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Wesley proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Laffey DD-724. He was an intelligent, hardworking man as well as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia with whom he had four daughters (Deloris, Joyce, Judith, and Luanne) and two granddaughters (Alesha, Ciera); brother, Earl; and sisters, Gloria, Dorothy, and Lois. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 11 years, Mary Strehlau; daughter, Norma (Dave) Hokett; grandchildren, Travis (Carrie) Fase, Trent (Erin) Fase, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Corpus Christi, Texas. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the VFW.
