Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
After 89 years of life on this earth, Warren T. Faber, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, into eternity with his Lord. Warren lived his life in service to his family, church, and community; furthering God’s kingdom in word and deed. After serving his country in the Korean War, he began a 43-year career with Old Kent Bank and Trust Co. Everywhere he went, even after retirement, he would be recognized and greeted by those he worked with or helped buy their first car, first home, set up a College Fund, or helped them discover and obtain business or personal financial goals. Countless hours were spent at the church he loved, 12TH Avenue Christian Reformed Church, serving in many leadership roles. He was an elder, worked in Sunday School and youth group, served on two Romanian mission trips, and used his beautiful voice to sing in the choir. Warren used his God given talents in the community, serving on the Jenison Christian School Board, Sunset Manor Board and was a Georgetown Township Trustee. Nothing brought more joy than the hours he spent on the golf course. He enjoyed the game as well as meeting people and building lasting friendships. Working for Terra Verde Golf Course allowed him to continue playing well into his retirement years. So many wonderful family memories were made camping and traveling the U.S. and internationally. These trips brought adventure and laughter, cherished family memories that his family holds dear. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Verna (Veltema) Faber; children, Marcy Faber, Jim (Dawn) Faber, Melinda (Bob) Hardy; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jenifer Churchill (JR, Alyssa), James Hardy, Chris Hardy, Brad and Courtney Faber (Charlotte), Geoff and Michelle Mahoney (Myrtle, Tullah); brother, Roger (Judy) Faber; sisters-in-law, Leona Boerman and Evie Stursma; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Ed Streelman; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Mary Faber; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Stu, Lorna and June Veltema, Don Boerman, George and Jean Veltema, Marv and Cornie Veltema, and Ted Stursma. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at noon at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. Don VanSlyke officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Memorial gifts in Warren’s memory may be made to Resonate Global Mission or Right to Life of Michigan.
