Ward Alan Standish, age 73, of Georgetown Manor, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents, Wilbur and Mildred Standish; and his great aunt, Aletha Ruehs who was like a second mother to him. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, Wendy and Paul Harrington (Megan, Drew), and Kari and David Troseth (Alyssa, Paul, Tommy); sister, Karlene Standish and Betty Baxter; brother, Paul and Pat Standish; nieces, Pamela Standish, and Rebecca Standish. Ward proudly served his country in the US Army. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 4 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Chaplain Rick Kiekintveld officiating. Interment Holy Corners Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
