Wallace “Wallie” Brock Ward, age 94, of Caledonia passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Helen (Sherk) Ward; brothers, Hugh (Mary) Ward, J. Richard (Lucena) Ward. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 73 years, Betty (Denise) Ward; children Robert (Bonnie) Ward, Steven (Melanie) Ward, Barbara (Robert) Troost, Christine (Sam) Bull; grandchildren, Brian (Anna) Ward, Belinda (fiance, Jonnathan Jackson) Ward, Michael (Samantha) Troost, Kevin (Katie) Troost; great grandchildren, Lydia Ward, Isaac Ward, Ethan Ward, Aaron Ward, Owen Ward, Nora Troost, Lucas Troost and Brock Troost; and several nieces and nephews. Wallie enjoyed farming, tractor and engine shows, camping, family gatherings, bus tours, and trips to the Red Shack. A private family funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, March 29, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St. SE, Caledonia. Burial will be held at Alaska Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Due to gathering restrictions, there will be a limit on the number of people who may enter the building at a time and face masks will be required.

Dear Aunt Betty and family--we are so sorry to learn of Uncle Wallie's passing. I know you will miss him more than words can describe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. It was a joy to know him and to work with him on the farm all the years of my youth. I appreciated his truly pleasant nature, his patience, and his enjoyment of being with family and friends. The world is a better place because of his life, and we have so many good memories with him. We hope all the memories you have will comfort you. --Fred and Phyllis Ward
