Virginia Kay

Kay, Virginia “Ginger”, age 81, of Kentwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Ginger will be lovingly remembered by her children: Karen and Harold Crawford of Everett, WA, Linda and Mark Owen of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren, Nathan and Wendy Crawford of Everett, WA, Jonathan and Courtney Crawford of Kentwood; special friends Mary Gainey-Sutton, Bette McCune, and Lillian.  Ginger is also survived by her sister Patty and Robbie vanden Berg of Virginia Beach, VA,  and four nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Sr. and Anna Kay; brothers Henry and Thomas Kay Jr.; and her cats: Miss Kitty and Mr. Buster. Ginger had a 22 yr. career with Amway Corporation, retiring in 2000.  Her first loves were her family, spending time with them, playing games, playing bridge with Kentwood Seniors at the Rec Center, and going on bus trips with her friends at American House Kentwood.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care Ginger received by the American House Kentwood staff and Grace Hospice Grand Rapids.  Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in Ginger’s memory can be given to Crash’s Landing or the charity of one’s choice.
