Virginia Alcumbrack

ALCUMBRACK – Mrs. Virginia Eleen (Parker) Alcumbrack, aged 99, fell asleep in death on Sunday, September 20, 2020 and is awaiting our Lord’s return.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Clair Alcumbrack; brother, George Edward Parker; and son-in-law, Ray Hall.  Surviving are her daughters, Susan Hall, Nancy Alcumbrack, Bonnie (Milt) Andrews; sons, Richard (Jan) Alcumbrack, Robert (Sherry) Alcumbrack; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. 

Virginia and Clair were married on July 1, 1942 on a 24-hour pass after which Clair went oversees for 34 months.  While Clair was overseas, Virginia worked for a defense contractor and purchased their first home.  She was a devoted wife and mother and was a long-time member of Pennellwood Church of God.  She lived her life as an example of service to others in everything she did.  From childhood on she has received great joy from entertaining family and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday, September 23rd graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery, 2530 Kalamazoo Ave. SE. starting at 10:30am.  Cemetery entrance is beside the Grand Rapids Fire Department Station #4. Follow the Mackay-Jaycees Park entrance back to the cemetery drive. 

A service celebrating Virginia’s life will begin at 11am.  All in attendance are invited to share a personal remembrance of Virginia’s impact on your life.
