Vanda Kinkaid Jelks

Vanda Kinkaid Jelks, age 52, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Vanda’s favorite pastimes included fishing on the Grand River, working on cars or watching car shows. He cherished his daughter, Izzy and loved spending time with her. He was often found tinkering with things and often losing a few screws because “you didn’t need them.” He will be greatly missed for his knowledge of cars, quiet presence and friendship. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Wigfall; grandmother, Isabelle Jelks; father, James Pugh; grandfather, L.C. Pugh; sister, Kimala Vesey and aunt, Betty Bryant. He will be lovingly remembered by his girlfriend of 17 years, Kathleen Murray; daughter, Isabella Jelks; siblings: Michael Jelks, Steve Wigfall, Ricky Wigfall, Kristie Wigfall, Diamond Durden, Kayla (Deionte) Wigfall Farr, James Pugh Jr., Marvin Jackson, Kinya Vesey, Michelle Murray, Patrick (Belinda) Murray; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at MKD Belmont- Stegenga Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont from 10am- 1pm.
