Tom W. Burggraaff, age 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away under hospice care on Sunday, September 22, 2019. He was a proud family man that would do anything for his grandchildren. Tom was a dedicated GM employee who worked as a welder, retiring after over 20 years of faithful service. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was fishing, gardening, or going on a walk. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Alice Burggraaff. He will be remembered by his children, Sue and Paul DeRoo, Cindy and Pat Pike, Peter Burggraaff, Thomas Burggraaff, Leslie and J.D. Gonzales; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 12:00 noon at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Allendale) 6651 Scott St., with  Chaplain Caleb Walcott officiating. Interment will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 11 a.m.-12 noon prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
