Thomas VanDyke

VANDYKE - Mr. Thomas J. Van Dyke, aged 85 of Kentwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, December 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Karen; brother, Albert VanDyke; sister, Jessie Lemmer. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Bertha; children, John (Rose) VanDyke, Marcia (Randy) Stewart, Doris (Richard) Dill, Richard (Sally) VanDyke, Cal (Pam) VanDyke; grandchildren, Olivia (Matt) Huisman, Angie (Scott) VanWyk, Andrew and Jeremy Stewart, Megan, Melissa and Rory Dill, Matthew VanDyke, Cody and Cassie VanDyke; great grandchildren, Levi, Reuben and Silas Huisman, Henry and Meleah VanWyk, Mason Stewart; brother, Abe (Dean) VanDyke; sisters, Henrietta (Leonard) Tellinghuisen, Alwena Dolieslager. Tom was a very active member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Wyoming and served as Quarter Master of the Grand Rapids Cadet Council. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Immanuel CRC, 33 Elwell SW with Pastor David Adams and Chaplain Darren Tigelaar officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to services at church. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel CRC for the D.O.C.K. Ministries, Calvinist Cadet Corps or Immanuel Cadets.
