Thomas Stack

September 11, 2022

Thomas Stack, age 73, of Jenison passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Through the years, Tom worked for News Channels 13 and 8, Dermody Truck Sales, and later retired from Western Michigan Fleet Parts. Kind-hearted and fun-loving, he easily became friends with anyone. Family was important to him, he cherished spending time with his grandkids and enjoyed annual family reunions at Lake Michigan. He worked hard to support his kids in many ways, from coaching baseball, passing on his love of music, going on camping trips and more. Tom’s favorite pastimes included football, Nascar, Jeopardy, and hanging out with his many friends. Tom and his wife, Marla, enjoyed the simplicity of spending time together. He will be greatly missed for his ability to share facts about anything, special cooking, generous heart, and love for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jane Stack. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Marla; son, Tyler Stack; daughter, Chelsea (Chris) Conner; beloved grandchildren, Calvin, and Camilla; siblings, Mary Ann (Jim) Heintz, Dennis Stack, Susan Stack; many close cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering to celebrate Tom’s life will be held from 2-5 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Wedgwood Park, 3391 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville.

Hi Marla: This is Tom's old buddy from Gr Rapids from the 19702, then my name was Rachel De Jong. Busher was his best buddy ever since I knew him, and I tried calling him today to catch up, and I knew when the # kept ringing, he must have died. I am so sorry I didn't stay in better touch. He was always like a big brother to me and definitely was a fun and good influence in my life. Im sorry for you and the kids' loss.

Tom will be dearly missed by our family. I loved seeing Tom and catching up at our annual family reunions on Lake Michigan. As children, we all spent the holidays together and our parents were very close, all living in Grand Rapids. When we were young we had the family picnics at Dutton and Mulick Park. Going way back to when we were under 5 we had singing and music playing at Great Aunt Ella's house. Tom was a wonderful cousin who I miss already.
