Thomas James Goodwin

April 8, 2021

Thomas James Goodwin, age 57, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Friends and family members will remember Tom as friendly, upbeat, and hospitable to all. He enjoyed his work in commercial construction, beginning as a carpenter and ending his career as a superintendent with Moltus Building Group. One of his favorite parts of his work was the opportunity to travel. From kayaking in Texas to hiking in Canada, Tom loved to experience the best of every place he went to and never missed an opportunity to make a new connection. Above all, Tom had a passion for adventure and finding the fun in life. He was also a roller coaster enthusiast, taking annual Father’s day trips to Cedar Point with his family. Aside from being a father of three, one of Tom’s greatest achievements was building his own home in Wyoming, MI. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Lance Goodwin, Nickalis Goodwin, Tennison Goodwin; mother, Patricia and Michael Barton; brothers: David Earl Goodwin, Richard Wayne Goodwin, Steven Paul and Deb Goodwin; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Earl Goodwin. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Woodview Christian Church, 3785 Woodview SW, Wyoming. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at Winchester Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Susan Mast ALS Foundation https://www.susanmastals.org/donate.html.

I remember Tom from high school back in 1980. He was always just a real nice guy that everyone enjoyed hanging around. He was so unassuming and could always find something humorous about what was happening around. Even 30 years after our graduation, everyone enjoyed getting to see Tom again because he was such a nice guy. I can't tell you how much our high school class of '81 wishes to express our sincere condolences to Tom's family. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
