September 5, 2021

Thomas Allen Lenartz of Middleville, Michigan, devoted husband and father, died on September 5, 2021, at the age of 58 after a prolonged battle following heart surgery. Tom was born on May 30, 1963, and grew up in Caledonia, Michigan. He is survived by his cherished wife of nearly 35 years, Susan, children, Jacob Lenartz and Michelle (Steven) Cruikshank; brothers, Don (Terri), Dave (Debbie), and Paul (Lois); mother, Patricia Lenartz; numerous nieces, nephews and loyal friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lenartz. Tom had a love of learning and books and was an avid foodie, a skilled woodworker, was passionate about all things music, but was most at home when outdoors fishing, gardening or hiking. Although there will be no service at this time, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Tom. My thoughts are prayers to the family. I worked with Tom for years at Ann Arbor Computer and Rapistan, and we spend many long hours on job sites. His infectious laugh, love of blue grass music, his quick wit, and smile will always be remembered,

Our online gaming team player with Tom for a long time. He was such an upbeat, caring, and fun team player. He loved to talk about Michigan and how much he enjoyed the outdoors. He talked very lovingly about his fabulous family, and about how proud he was of his children. It was our deepest honor to know him. Our deepest condolences to his wife Susan, his children Jacob and Michelle, his mother, and his brothers. May God's comfort and strength sustain you during this time.

So sorry for your loss. I remember growing up across the street from all of you and all the fun we used to have. Climbing trees, building forts and just hanging out.

Tom was always up to something be it building, gardening, or music. He was such a good example of a good husband, an excellent and loving father, and a craftsman. All I have of Tom are good memories and I'm grateful for it. He fully lived and will be fully missed.

I'm so sorry to learn of Tom's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Tom for several years at GE in Grand Rapids. He was a good engineer - and more importantly a good man. It was a pleasure to know him and work with him. Deepest condolences to his family - I know they all meant so very much to him.
