Theressa Hofman

Theressa “Tres” Elaine Hofman, age 88, of Jenison, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 29, 2024. Tres served the Lord by serving others. Many people, both in her family and in the church benefited greatly from her selfless giving. Tres loved camping, painting, spending time with her family and tending her flower garden. We thank and praise God for the excellent godly example she has shown to us, her children. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, William “Bill” and Joan Hofman, Tom and Darla Hofman, Melissa and Doug Looyenga; grandchildren, Katelyn and Zane VanMiddlekoop, Jeff and Grace Hofman, Jill and Jeremy Essenburg, Michelle and Edwin Kok, Jacob Hofman, Emily and Luis Rivera, Stephanie and Brandon Daling, Justin and Madalyn Looyenga, Nicholas and Emily Looyenga, and Ethan Looyenga; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William “Bill” Hofman; and her 13 siblings. The family wishes to express their thanks to Faith Hospice for the excellent care given to Tres. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at First Protestant Reformed Church, 2800 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Joseph Holstege officiating. The burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Adams Christian School.
