Therese Rich

Therese Rich, age 92, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Therese graduated from Wayne State University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She went on to work for Catholic Social Services until she moved to Grand Rapids and started to work for the State of Michigan. She was a devout Catholic and in her free time, Therese loved bird watching, playing piano, and had a great interest in tracking her family’s genealogy. Therese had a big heart, and her family meant the world to her. Her door was always open for any family member to come, enjoy a delicious meal and leave feeling so much love. She was preceded in death by siblings Robert (Sally) Sanderson, Louis (Maureen) King, Eileen (Monty) Walker; and the father of her children, Robert E. Rich. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert T Rich, Ann “Shelly” (Eric) Ottenbacher, Lara Rich, Mark Rich, Louis (Michelle) Rich; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin Street with Fr. Phong Pham presiding. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, July 26 from 4-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the service.
