Theresa “Tracy” Cherry

Theresa “Tracy” (Selles) Cherry, age 49, of Wyoming, passed away to be with her Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026. Tracy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her five children, whom she cherished deeply. Tracy had a natural gift for caring for others and opened her heart and home as a foster mother to many children, leaving a lasting impact on each of their lives. She faithfully volunteered at UICM and was strong in her faith, serving her church with dedication and love.

Tracy was a devoted and supportive presence in her children’s lives, always encouraging them in their many activities. She was known for her warm, comforting hugs—often said to have the power to heal anything. Creative and artistic, Tracy found joy in drawing, writing, cross-stitching, and photography. She also loved playing games, bringing a fun but competitive spirit and always aiming to win. And, of course, she never passed up a good Diet Coke.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Selles III; son, James Matthew Cherry. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, David and Rebecca Cherry, Aaliyah Cherry, Jonathan Cherry, Julia Cherry, and Caleb Cherry; mother, Sandy Selles; sisters and brothers, Cathy Selles, Bill and Lindsi Selles, Audrey and Sam Glenn; several nieces and nephews; and her pets, Odie her dog, and Samson her axolotl.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, March 27, 2026 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Chase Stancle officiating.  Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10 to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to United in Christ Ministries.
