Theresa Ann Johnson

Theresa Ann Johnson, age 87, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Theresa was a warm, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Theresa enjoyed life to the fullest even though she was faced with many challenges including polio, burns from a car fire, and caring for her husband who had rheumatoid arthritis. She loved to bake and made the best chocolate chip cookies and the best decorated cakes. She spent many years in customer service at Arlan’s Department Store. She was a hard-working woman and painted the outside of the house when Ernest was unable. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles with the family and did one each day. She had a special place in her heart for “Charlie” the dog. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ernest; daughter, Roseann Shea Johnson, and grandson Chad Burgess. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Sylvia (Marty) DeWitt, Eileen Jakubczak, Cynthia Johnson, Ernest Johnson, Jr., Anita (Steve) Johnson, Tammy (Dave) Skinner, 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 5 to 8:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming and one hour prior to Mass on Thursday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
