Ted is a person who gave me much more than I gave him. I'm not sure if it was because I was Mary's little brother, or if it was just a facet of his generous nature. And he had to put up with a lack of gratitude from me; if there is one thing I regret in our relationship, it is not adequately thanking him for all he did. At a time like this, memories come from back in the day: He cut all the odd-angle parts for stereo speakers I was building with his radial arm saw. Being a skilled mechanic and with an interest in Corvairs (and Volkswagens), he fiddled with synchronizing the 4 single barrel carburetors on my 1968 Corvair Corsa until he concluded this arrangement was a GM engineering failure and it was best to get a new intake manifold so a Holley 4 bbl could be used and then he did that. Then when rust was getting the Corsa, he repainted it and patient Mary wondered what was wrong with both of us when we came into the house slightly wobbly from the paint fumes (he was also a good auto body man). Ted was not dealt an easy life with health issues, but they never were an issue that he let stand in his way. He was skilled in almost everything, and even as his body lost dexterity, he still pushed through it. He was full of courage and strength. Most of all, he was an honorable and righteous man who lived a faithful life. I rejoice in the Christian Confidence that I will see Ted again in the New Heaven and New Earth where all things are made right. Until then, Requiescat in Pace, dear man.
