Theodore R. Stephan

Theodore Roosevelt Stephan, Jr,  age 88, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, February 21, 2020. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Conflict and was proud to be a veteran. Ted began working at General Motors in 1954 and retired 42 years later in 1996. Ted was a member of Wood Brook Cathedral for many years and loved to share his faith in God with everyone he met. Ted’s desire was to do good for others as much as he could. He always kept a song in his heart. If not singing, he was whistling or telling a joke. He loved people, Jesus, his family and friends. He had joy in his heart and loved to share a smile. If you met him, you had a new friend, because he considered you his friend. He always had a story to tell, or a memory to share.  “I have lived a fully blessed life!” he would say all the time. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Karen, in 2008. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karalee and Gary Doornbos, Dannee Stephan, Sherree and Jim Barrett, Sandee and Harvey Konynenbelt, Randee Stephan, Garree and Karen Stephan, Jeffree Stephan; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Stephan, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck and Cathee Vosburg, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 3 - 5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
