Theodore L.  Sytsma

Sytsma, Theodore L.   Theodore “Ted” Sytsma, age 86, of Grandville, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.  Ted was a loving and generous man with a strong faith in his Lord and Savior.  He was always positive and encouraging to all who knew him.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Carolyn and was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing.  Ted retired from Grand Rapids Gravel Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn (Dood); children, Greg and Judy Sytsma, Gwen Benedict, Gary and Carol Sytsma; grandchildren, Jeff and Rachael Sytsma, Justin and Leah Sytsma, Jason Sytsma, Beth Clark, Todd Benedict, Brian Benedict, Lee and Kim Sytsma, Andrew and Kari Systma, Amber Sytsma; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Vanderheuvel; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marge and John Olthof; sisters-in-law, Grace Sytsma, Evelyn Sytsma, Gerta Systma; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  A funeral service for Ted will be held Monday, June 3 10:00 am at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 3110 Barrett Street SW, Grandville with Rev. Doug Fauble and Pastor Lou Toering officiating.
