Thelma Jean Knol

Thelma Jean Knol, age 90, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul Welday and brother, Cleo Huizenga. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Thomas; children, Tom and Carrie Knol, and Valerie Knol; grandchildren, Jack, Charlotte, Gus, and Henry Knol, and Natalie Welday; and sister-in-law, Genevieve Huizenga. A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held on Thursday, July 20, at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone United Reformed Church, 6442 36th Avenue, Hudsonville, with Pastor James Admiraal officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the St. Cecilia Music Center.

Tom Jr -- My love and sympathies to you at this time. I remember your mom as a sweet, kind, watchful mom...I think you were solely responsible for her gray hair. What a beautiful woman and life. Peace to you all. I pray you'll have more good memories than tears.

Tom and family, My sincerest condolences on the passing of Thelma. She was a wonderful, sweet, talented caring person. As an organist at Alger Park Christian Reformed church for many years, she blessed us on Sundays with her organist talents. Gratefully she also played for our wedding.....so many years ago.
