Thelma Deering

Thelma Ann Deering, age 88, of Byron Center, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Maude Deering; siblings, Joan and Orville Hazen, Mary Irene and Pete Antor, Mary Ilene Deering, Charles “Bud” Deering, Dale and Betty Deering.  Thelma will be lovingly remembered by siblings, Jack and Noma Deering, Helen Deering, special niece, Joyce and Steven Farrell; great-great-nephew, Camdon Farrell; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Thelma enjoyed time with her dogs, gardening, and walking.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 11 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish, 156 Valley Ave SW, (corner of Park and Garfield) with Fr. Joseph Tugbe celebrant.  Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, August 13, from 6-8 pm, with a Rosary Service at 8 pm, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
