Thedis (Brummel) DeWitt, age 84, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert J. DeWitt. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mark and LuAnne DeWitt, Kristen and Jeff Gowman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Derek Roseman (Cooper, Stella, Beckham) and Mitchell and Kaylee DeWitt (Avery, Maddox), Kyria, George, and Linus Gowman; brother, Ryland and Jan Brummel; sister, Jan Klooster; sister-in-law, Arlene Brummel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 1 pm at Harbor Life Church, 3085 Wallace SW, Grandville with Pastor Jeff Gowman officiating. The service will be available via livestream at https://www.facebook.com/Harborlifeonline. Burial Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 12 to 12:45 pm prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.

To the family of my good friend, Thedis. I first met Thedis when we worked together at Zurich Ins Co. in 1956 & a great friendship developed We went through having showers for our marriages, having our babies. & all our life experiences that followed, we remained great friends In fact, just just over a week or so, we had a long telephone conversation, to catch up on what was going on in our lives. We had alot. of laughs & all appeared to be good with her. What a shock it was to see them Obituary & the fact that the good Lord called her home, already. I know that she is experiencing much joy now with Bob her folks ,& his folks & other family members & friends. May she Rest In Peace, Amen.

I've known Thedis all my life. She was a wonderful Christian example to me. She was a very talented pianist and I enjoyed playing with her at Olivet church services. Thedis was a very giving person who was always one of the first to volunteer. I remember the wonderful pecan pies she made for the Olivet Women's Ministries fundraiser each fall--always a treat! Thedis had extensive Biblical knowledge and she "practiced what she preached". We will miss her!

To LuAnne and Mark: I am so sad to read of Thedis' passing. I remember her visiting us at Whimbledon Apt. when we worked there as rental agents. She was such a lovely and kind lady. My sympathies for your loss.

Thedis was my Mom's cousin. My mom was Genevieve Brummel Kroon. I found that out when we went to Olivet with Bob and Thedis. Thedis was a wonderful, friendly God fearing person. Always a kind word and a let's get it done attitude. I loved serving on women's ministry with her, we d got many things done, and had fun doing it! I still remember a fun Court Whist party we had at her home for a great mixer of 12 couples. She always was part of the Block Parties at Olivet, and had a joy of getting out in the community and inviting them in. She also always did Pie days. She had a great servents heart, and always looked where to help. She will be greatly missed.

To the family of Mrs. DeWitt, please accept my sympathies. Thedis was a wonderful lady who cared deeply about others. We were grateful for her contributions to the community as part of the advisory board for the Grandville Branch of Kent District Library. I had many wonderful conversations with her. She will be greatly missed.

I met Thedis in the neighborhood book club. We even met up in Florida to discuss the books read by the group in the winter. What great visits we had. She shall be missed. Kris Hull
