Terry Lynn Carpenter

Terry Lynn Carpenter (71) of Davison, passed away on December 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Terry was born on December 8, 1952, in Owosso, MI to Gordon and Phyllis Jennings, and from the very beginning, she was a source of strength to their lives. She grew up alongside her siblings, Tami VanOost, Robin Jennings, Rick (Judy) Jennings, Joe Jennings, and Debra West, creating a bond that would withstand the tests of time. 

On a journey through life, Terry found her greatest joys in the roles of mother and grandmother. She was the proud mother of John (Michelle) Carpenter, who, along with his family, brought immeasurable happiness to Terry's heart. Terry adored her role as a grandmother to Grayson and Caiden Carpenter, creating lasting memories and sharing in their joys and successes. 

Terry's love extended beyond her immediate family; she was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews and a doting great-aunt to their children. Her nurturing spirit and kindness left an indelible mark on each one of them, fostering a sense of family unity that will be cherished for generations. 

Terry enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, college and professional, but most of all she loved watching her grandkids and great nieces and nephews play sports. She also enjoyed watching her son coach basketball and loved being his score keeper. Terry’s family was a very important part of her life. 

She is survived by her son, John (Michelle) Carpenter; grandchildren: Grayson and Caiden; siblings: Tammy VanOost, Robin Jennings, Rick (Judy) Jennings, and Joe Jennings; sister and best friend, Deb West; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Carpenter; son, Dale Carpenter, father, Gordon Jennings; and mother, Phyllis Jennings. 

Her memorial service will be held at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, 116 Grove Street, Otisville, MI 48463. Her service will be at Noon on Friday, January 5, 2024. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 11AM until the time of her service.
