Terry L. Grasman, age 69, of Hudsonville, was called home to his Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020.  Terry was born on September 7, 1950.  God in His grace and mercy claimed Terry as His own, and Terry loved his Lord in return.  If the family was asked to describe Terry, they would all agree he is the best. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margaret Grasman and his parents-in-law, Erwin and Christine Newenhouse; sister, Sherry Keene; and brother, Larry Grasman. Terry leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years, Vicki; his children, Jeff and Jamie Grasman, Rob and Becky Velthouse, and Matt Grasman; grandchildren, Ryann, Joey Grasman, Zac, Jacob Velthouse all of whom Terry loved and adored. Terry will also be lovingly remembered by his sister, Arloa and Ron Vander Wal; brothers, Jack and Barb Grasman, Russ and Amy Grasman, Rick and Sue Grasman; inlaws, Barbara J. Grasman, Jim and Kristie Schrieber, Judd and Lori Newnhouse, Jeff and Barb Kreun; several nieces and nephews.  God took Terry back to Himself and he will be greatly missed.  We thank God for the gift he was to us all. Private Graveside services will be held. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, July 30 from 5-8 pm outdoors, at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 6475 40th Ave., Hudsonville.  In lieu of flowers, please spend some time out enjoying God’s creation that Terry so loved.

Matthew 25:23 Well done, good and faithful servant. Terry inspired and influenced countless people and his ability to make everyone around him better was one of his greatest gifts. He gave people freedom to make mistakes, but thoughtful guidance when needed. He was always available, always thinking of others and always ready with a story that contains wise advice. He was faithful with what the Lord gave him, now he shares his Masters’ happiness. Well done, Terry, Well done.

Anyone that met my grandpa could see that he was a special person. His outlook on life and selfless attitude will always be remembered. His support for me in basketball is something I’m going to miss, but I know he will be watching from a better place now. Many of my best childhood memories involved him. Whether it be at the cabin or spraying the hose at the parade cars he never failed to make me laugh. We all can’t wait to see you again.

Grandpa was a big role model in my life. He taught me what it meant to be a man, how to work hard, how to take care of everybody and not complain about a single thing. I don’t remember a single time I asked he for anything and he said he wouldn’t do it. I am going to miss seeing grandpa in the stands at my basketball games. I am going to miss those post game texts telling me I did a good job. I will miss going to the cabin and the cottage with us. I remember all the funny story’s he told us at family suppers. I will miss all the fun times at the cottage with him. But I know he is In heaven. Looking down on us cheering us on.

Oh Vicki, I am so saddened by this news. I always held Terry in high regard. He was someone I will always remember, he was such a kind man. You and Terry were not only husband and wife, you were a team that God brought together so many years ago. He had a mission for the two of you and Terry completed that mission he was called to do. He was a good and faithful servant. If I can do anything at all please do not hesitate to reach out to me. May God bless you and keep you, may His light shine upon you and give you a peace that passes all understanding.

There’s just so much more to be said about who he was. My grandpa was a lot of things hard headed and stubborn as two of them, but he was also hilarious there wasn’t a person he couldn’t make laugh, he was basically deaf, a horrible gift receiver most of the time, a decent bingo caller, a terrible boat driver, and a pretty alright hunter when he tried and didn’t go just to sit in the woods. He was also a hardworker, a brilliant cook, considerate, kind, and caring. He would surprise me at work with white bread and cinnamon rolls, made the best shepherds pie, and I know he would have done anything for me and the rest of our family because for my grandpa his family was one of the most important things. My grandpa loved my grandma and the rest of us with his whole heart he was a selfless disciple of our God and will he missed so so deeply. But we know where he is, we know who greeted him at the gates, and we know he will be watching over us every day, cheering us on at every big event, game or show, because our family’s cheerleading section in heaven was just joined by its biggest fan. Wait for us at the gates grandpa, we will see you real soon.

My condolences to Terry's family. He was always such a positive gentleman when he would frequently visit his brother, Russ and Nephew, Kyle at the Blendon Pines Store. They always had a good laugh together and one could see the love and respect they had for one another. We will certainly miss having him visit. May he rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to end all suffering. Before long, God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things (will) have passed away.”(Rev. 21:3,4). May this promise from God give you comfort now and a real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.
