T. Jean Veltema

Thelma Jean Veltema, age 87 of Jenison, went home peacefully  to be with her Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terri and Terry Butler, Gwen and Dennis Klemm, Carmen and Michael Kuncaitis; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; three step great grandsons; sisters, Geneva Hoolsema, Joyce Baker, Marlene and John Natelborg, Carol and Jim Van Wyhe; sister-in-law, Leona Boerman, Verna and Warren Faber, Evelyn Stursma, Cornelia Veltema; many nieces and nephews.  She made lifelong friends working as a nurse and loved her job driving cars for a local  auto auction. Jean was a talented knitter and enjoyed bowling and golfing. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11 a.m at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Don VanSlyke officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity Christian High School or Jenison Christian School.
